Techniques

At Altitude Chiropractic, we take great pride in providing the finest chiropractic care to each and every patient. We have included information below about the different chiropractic techniques offered in our Palmer chiropractic office.

Traditional Spinal Adjustments

A traditional spinal adjustment is one of the most common and well-known chiropractic treatments. Sometimes referred to as spinal manipulation, this treatment requires the chiropractor to use a gentle thrusting motion to realign the spine and adjust the joints within the spine. Known as a high-velocity low-amplitude thrust, the specific technique will vary in force and strength depending on the individual and their circumstances. Our chiropractors specialize in individualized treatment plans.

Low Force Techniques

Low force techniques are ideal for patients who require a more gentle approach to chiropractic care. In some cases, the patient’s muscles, soft tissues and joints do not need a high-impact adjustment in order to be treated. At our practice, we feel that low force techniques can be used to provide patients with the care they need without being subjected to unnecessarily intense treatments and adjustments. There are several different low force techniques that we use.

Drop Table

The drop table technique is ideal for patients who are experiencing spinal pain or extremity pain. During this technique, the patient is placed on a specialized drop table that allows the chiropractor to quickly and effectively make an adjustment that will provide immediate relief. This treatment is beneficial for treating pain and also preventing future injury.

Activator

The Activator Method is an instrument adjusting technique. It is highly effective in providing patients with the relief that they need. Not every chiropractor is able to perform it, but our chiropractors have undergone extensive training to be able to utilize this adjustment technique.

Flexion Distraction

Patients who are suffering from lumbar spinal conditions, such as a herniated disc or a bulging disc, can benefit from the Flexion Distraction technique. It is a non-force technique that can be gently applied to relieve pressure and improve motion in the spine. It is sometimes an alternative to spinal surgery.

Therapeutic Massage

Many people mistakenly consider a massage to be a luxury, but it actually is a valuable treatment option for patients suffering from chronic pain and mobility issues. Our chiropractors believe that this all-natural treatment approach is a wonderful complement to many of the chiropractic treatment plans that we create for our patients. Therapeutic massage has the capability of relieving pain, improving an individual’s range of motion and speeding up the recovery process.

Medical Grade Massage

A medical grade massage is often recommended for patients who are suffering from a painful chronic condition or who are recovering from an injury. A hands-on massage from our qualified chiropractors can provide immediate and lasting relief. Localized massages are available, as well as comprehensive massages.

60- and 90- Minute Self-Pay Massages

Individuals who may not be seeking chiropractic care but are still interested in having a thorough, effective massage have the option of purchasing one of our self-pay massage packages. We offer 60-minute and 90-minute massages that can be customized to meet the needs of the individual.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy has been used for thousands of years to treat inflammation and pain. It also can help to relax and calm the patient. Our chiropractors are skilled at using the specialized cups that create the suction necessary for this therapy option.
